A little about my journey

Hello, I am an Air Force veteran that has two beautiful kids. My oldest was diagnosed with developmental delays at a very young age. For the first 4 years, I had to learn how to manage my child's medical necessities while also trying to balance my military career, a home, and not to mention, infertility problems. Life was an emotional roller coaster.
In 2020, COVID hit, making life more chaotic than it already was. My kid was forced to end pre-k early, and go with zero interraction for almost 5 months. After what seemed like 5 long months, school resumed, but of course it came with many restrictions. Those restrictions made it hard for my kid to learn anything. The teacher was concerned with the learning difficulties my kid was displaying and recommend testing for learning disabilities.
In January of 2021, we were informed that our kid was a neurodivergent human being living in a world where Autism is often seen as a bad thing.
It has been 3 years since the official diagnosis, and the things we have learned, lived, and continue to fight for are only getting started. So please grab your coffee, warm up a bagel, and sit down to read about my struggles as a mom of a military brat who not only wears combat boots, but those combat boots are made of tiny 🧩 pieces that make them part of a bigger puzzle.
